"Soulful Vocalist, Dynamic Entertainer, Gifted Songwriter"
Just a few of the titles that describe the many talents of Little Phil.
Little Phil (Rosenberg) has an impressive resume, starting in 1964 as a 14-year old protégé with a Southern band called the Night Shadows. He was immediately recognized as a natural talent, even at that tender age. There was little reluctance putting him with the company of musicians 10 years older. The kid had the goods: persuasive voice, super-eager attitude, and an eye-popping James Brown-type stage persona Most of all, his soulful conviction went far beyond his years and helped break down any preconceived notions. The band would break up in 1969, but it developed a well-deserved cult following thanks to relentless touring and frequent recordings in the Rock, R&B, and Soul fields. In the seventies, Little Phil helped transform the southern music scene, performing at concerts and music festivals with "Kudzu" and later "Bandit". This allowed him the opportunity to share the same bill with artists such as Bob Segar, Z.Z.Top, Wet Willie, The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk, War, Steely Dan, Mother's Finest, and others. After an automobile accident in the eighties, Phil was forced to take some time off.
Little Phil's critically acclaimed debut solo album in late 2005 "Out Of The Shadows" brought Little Phil back to his original musical roots with such influences such as Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Johnny Taylor, James Brown, Solomon Burke, and Elvis, to name a few. Little Phil's debut album "Out Of The Shadows" featured Georgia and Alabama Music Hall of Fame members Jack and Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie, award winning blues man Theodis Ealey, and acclaimed young guitarist Mike Lowry. It was a critical success with Blues Critic Magazine naming it one of the 10 "Best Blues Albums of 2006".
Performing in any venue, large or small, this first-class entertainer is a guaranteed crowd pleaser and experienced professional. Audiences are captivated by his magnetic stage presence as his band of accomplished musicians crank out an amazing fusion of blues, soul, and rock. All this makes "The Little Phil Show" an event that you won't soon forget!
His career and creative trajectory took him to ever greater heights while recording his latest album "Never Gonna Give It Up". In 2011, Little Phil's legend continues to grow, and his example continues to inspire new generations of musicians. Little Phil took 2 years to carefully craft his sophomore solo album "Never Gonna Give It Up" knowing its not the quantity of music, but the quality. This makes "Never Gonna Give It Up" a southern soul must have!!
